This Privacy Policy explains how Snatch Social Pty Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Snatch Social mobile application, our website, and related services (together, the "Services").
We are based in Australia and aim to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you are located in other jurisdictions (including the EU/EEA), additional rights may apply as described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide the Services (account creation, profiles, messaging, events/deals), improve app stability and performance, and keep the community safe.
1.1 Account and Profile Information
- Account identifiers (e.g., user ID) and authentication details
- Email address (if you sign in with Google) and/or phone number (if you sign in with phone/SMS)
- Profile details you choose to provide (e.g., name, bio, interests, languages, age/date of birth, gender, relationship status)
- Profile photos and gallery images you upload
1.2 Location Information
If you enable location features, we collect precise location information from your device to power nearby and location-based features (for example, showing nearby events/venues and improving relevance). You can control location permissions in your device settings.
1.3 Messages and Community Safety
- Messages you send and receive (including text and any media you attach)
- Reports and moderation data (e.g., content reports, abuse reports, blocks) to help keep the community safe
1.4 Technical, Analytics, and Diagnostic Data
- Device information (device model, operating system version, app version/build)
- Push notification tokens (e.g., FCM token) to deliver notifications (if enabled)
- App usage data (e.g., screens viewed and interactions) to understand how the app is used and improve features
- Crash logs and diagnostics to identify and fix bugs
Note: Our diagnostics systems may include an internal user identifier to help us investigate issues affecting your account (for example, in crash reports you may be associated with your user ID).
1.5 Content You Upload
If you choose to upload images or media (e.g., profile pictures, gallery images, or chat attachments), we store the files and related metadata needed to display and manage that content.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and maintain your account
- Provide core app functionality (profiles, chats, groups, events, deals, invites, favourites)
- Enable location-based features (where you grant location permission)
- Send notifications you opt into (push and/or email/SMS preferences)
- Operate community safety features (moderation, reporting, abuse prevention)
- Analyse usage and improve the Services (analytics)
- Debug, secure, and maintain the Services (crash reporting and diagnostics)
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the EEA/UK, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract - to provide the Services you request
- Consent - for optional features such as precise location and certain notifications (where applicable)
- Legitimate interests - to keep our community safe, improve the Services, and prevent abuse/fraud
- Legal obligation - to comply with applicable laws
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We may share information with:
- Service providers that help us run the Services (for example, hosting and backend infrastructure, analytics, crash reporting, and push notification delivery).

We do not sell your personal information.
4.1 Deep links and attribution-style analytics
We use a deep linking provider to route and measure deep link performance (for example, to open the app to the correct screen). We are not running paid advertising campaigns at this time, and we do not use this deep linking setup for cross-app advertising tracking.
5. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process data in locations outside your country, including Australia and the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as contractual protections).
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes (such as maintaining safety, preventing abuse, and meeting legal obligations). If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify information, except where we must retain certain records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your Choices and Rights
7.1 Managing your information
- You can update many profile details within the app.
- You can control location permissions in your device settings at any time.
- You can manage notification preferences within the app (where available).
7.2 Account deletion
You can request account deletion in the app via App settings → Data & privacy → Delete account or by using our deletion page: https://www.getsnatchapp.com/data-deletion.
If you cannot access your account, you may request deletion by emailing privacy@getsnatchapp.com.
7.3 Additional rights (EEA/UK)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and request data portability. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@getsnatchapp.com.
